hoth

so, i apparently live in the land of Hoth this winter. while i am marginally happy with having an unplanned day off from work, at the moment i'm completely housebound. and that makes me feel even more cooped up than i already am with this random winter weather.

the positives: internet/youtube videos/Amazon, working on a new irish playlist, making some progress on a couple of freelance jobs, lounging in clothes i could never wear to work, books, music, wine and movies.

the negatives: running alarmingly low on coffee beans and toilet paper (!); have only managed to extract ice off of 7 of 12 exterior steps so far; so wired on a pot of coffee i can't take a proper nap; really enjoy getting out and about on my rare weekdays off but feel i would need cross country skis or a set of ice skates to just get out of the alleyway.

now, if you'll excuse me, i'm preparing for Round 2 of Icepocalypse 2011. Bedsheets on the cleared stairs. questionable, i know, but it keeps the ice from sticking to the stairs and you can just pull up the frozen sheets. Just call me Lady MacGyver.
