for the next few hours

...the Philadelphia Flyers are sitting at number one overall in the NHL. And if Ottawa manages to somehow lose (something they're not very good at this year) their game today, my beloved, brutish Flyers have a shot at extending their points lead. whew. While they're actually playing some fantastic hockey right now, and should, by all counts, not be doing quite so well with so many injured players this season, it makes my heart skip a little that they're demonstrating why (even though they are a frustrating bunch) i enjoy the team so much....they play with heart, which is why they are either fantastic or completely vulnerable from game to game over the years. their emotions have always ruled, which is why they're endearing, but also why they haven't won a stanley cup in such a long time. good job, boys, this road swing is inspiring.

on another completely different note....i just had the best sandwich. sauteed artichoke hearts and spinach with sharp cheddar (warm) with horseradish and mayo on multigrain bread. random, i know, but it was excellent and i highly suggest the combo. if you have a veggie suggestion for me, send it my way as i'm currently only eating fish and fowl.

and i'm going retro - i've been spinning buffalo tom and gigolo aunts albums this weekend and realizing that i really love them and must now drag out all kinds of old cds.
