July Indie Artist Spotlight: Artist Reviews Now Online at Indie-Music

As the temperatures outside heat up, so do the quality music submissions for the Indie-Music Artist Spotlight this summer. July’s reviews feature artists that seem to emanate their own light, even during a month of sunshine. This month’s offerings include a brand new release from the stellar Trampled By Turtles, new collaboration Hook & Anchor featuring members of Blind Pilot, Sweden’s divinely delicious Mental Monky Ballet, the psych-inspired beach rock of The Futures League, and Brooklyn urban folksters 5j Barrow, among others.

July’s artist reviews feature Trampled By Turtle’s “Wild Animals” (bluegrass/Americana), Mental Monky Ballet’s “Breaking the Law” (rock/dream pop), 5j Barrow’s “From the Dim, Sweet Light” (urban folk), Hook & Anchor’s self-titled album (country folk), The Futures League’s “Don’t Be A Drag” (psych rock), Carson Henley’s Jeff Buckley cover “Last Goodbye” (rock), Gulp’s “Season Sun” (pop), La La Lush’s self-titled EP (rock), Beautiful Small Machines’ “The DJ Stayed Home” (electro-twang), and Elyse & the Aftermath’s “Love & Armour” (pop). Visit all the reviews online by checking out the Artist Spotlight tab on the home page.
